Introduction to your new book:
In the introduction section of your binder begin a new page.
1. In the upper right hand corner, write the title of the book in large letters so it can easily be seen. Choose a specific color for this book. You will write the title using this same color each time you write about this book, so keep that colored pencil handy.
2. On the first line on your notebook paper write:
Title of book: (write the title of your book)
and then go down a line for each of the following:
2. Author:
3. Illustrator:
4. Awards:
5. Jacket summary (read through the summary inside the jacket front flap and summarize the story, Example: ___are my favorite wildlife as they always _____ in the strangest ways, In this book, I can't wait to read how ___ get into ____ and end up ____. There might be a ____ ending.)
6.Turn to the title page and note any type of illustration that is presented. It might be a hint to what the story is all about. Then write:
Title page: The story is about (dinosaurs? rabbits? Buildings?)
7. Then to the copyright page write:
Publisher:
Copyright date:
8. Then again, you might see another title page which might include more illustrations. If there is another illustration, write a sentence about what you're feeling when you look at it (we'll check back after you've read the book to see how close you came)
