Descriptions: painting a picture with words. Use words that tell the reader how something looks, sounds, feels, tastes, and smells. Topics: a storm, a place that makes you happy, a scary place, a place you love
What is your topic?
Make a list of things you want to include in your description.
Look over your list and connect the things that go together
Number the ideas to show which ones will come first in your description
Write your description on another piece of paper
Make each numbered idea a sentence
Think of a title for your description
read your description out loud
Write a story about something that scares you.
Write an opening sentence that will get the reader interested in your story.
Now write down several events that you're going to include in your story.
Number the events and put them in order that will lead to an interesting ending.
Write an ending sentence that repeats what you said in the beginning or says the same thing in a different way.
Rewrite the story on a separate piece of paper
Read your story out loud. Ask for help to think of a good
title for your story.
Write a letter
Spend 5 or 10 minutes talking about three things you would like to do next week.
Write a letter to your Mom describing your plans
Writing directions:
Fold an origami cat shape
Unfold it and fold it again, but write down each step that you take.
Now, take out another piece of origami paper and follow your directions, this time, to fold another cat shape.
Did you leave anything out? Do you need to change anything around?
